HOW QUICKLY THE TIME GOES

It is hard to believe so many weeks have passed without training, sewing or painting. The efforts of moving were interrupted most pleasantly by a family celebration of my mother's 80th birthday (in the form of a road trip to enjoy the birds, marine mammals, and butterflies of the Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Elkhorn Slough, Monterey region).

Now it is time to set up the new sewing studio, become a dues-paying dojo member, and establish a routine built around a 3 day a week day job in a rural/small town setting. There is a screech owl calling outside the window as I write - infinitely more pleasant than a light rail vehicle.

CREATING SOMETHING ELSE...

..a new home. Every room is filled with boxes and the perimeter is furniture, some partly deconstructed.

I suppose I could leave it this way for a while, document it, and get funding for it as INSTALLATION ART.
But all I really want to do is get is sorted out so I can get back to sewing, making things, swinging a sword, and going out to look at stuff.

Speaking of which, once things DO settle down, I will be participating in Bay Area Artquake, doing reviews of art shows and exploring the art scene hereabouts.

This blog will return to its stated themes sometime late February, so stay tuned.
